I was unable to attend the recent Staff Meeting and I got a few people to think about a few ideas so that hopefully something good would come to the server instead of the ideas being ignored outright due to me not being there to present them properly. Sadly, these ideas that I feel are critical to the server's well being were shot down and I would like to get community feedback on any or even all of these ideas as I feel it will vastly improve the server if any of these ideas are implemented. I will admit that this post is a little toxic as I feel it is ridiculous that it came to this. I apologize in advance.
These ideas include:
-Overthrows being limited to faction members only (Possibly Grays can participate as well)
-Remove auto bounties being set on Exiles
-Punishment being reevaluated for the N-Word
-Rules on Engagement being changed for Bounty Hunters
The reasoning behind these ideas will be explained later on and I'll attempt to include a TLDR that explains things properly for anyone being lazy.
Overthrow Limitations:
Currently the server has been facing an issue with constant Overthrows for both the Eternal Empire and the Sith. These overthrows have been targeted on both poor and great leaders alike as there will always be at least one person that is upset with how someone leads something or one person who would like power for themselves. This normally isn't a problem as a few people stand no chance against an Emperor, especially with his empire standing behind him, ready to attack anyone who dares to defy him. Of course, those who call Overthrow always have an advantage since they are the ones to "initiate" the Overthrow and can easily use this to their advantage to catch the Emperor off guard. Whether this be to call it while hes off planet so all his guards are stuck fighting on another planet or to call it while hes low from dueling someone, the person who calls the Overthrow is at a natural advantage in the beginning. This is a fair system as they normally are outnumbered and faction leaders have devastators that can change the tide of a fight instantaneously. With Bounty Hunters however, only a single person with 8 million dollars is required and a Bounty Hunter with half a brain cell. "How is this possible?" It's simple, you advert Overthrow while the Emperor is off planet, have the Bounty Hunter who can solo raid any planet every 15 minutes watch the warp pad, and BAM you pop the Emperor as he warps in and kill him instantly. Worried about your aim being a little off because you're not sure where to aim? No worries as you can practice with a friend in Downtime by having them warp in as you watch the Warp Pad and you perfect all 1 second of shooting them (or at least pretending to since you don't want to RDM). Worried about losing your whitelist and levels? No worries my friend as nobody can really prove you attempted to assist in the Overthrow as you were just happened to be "hunting the faction leader" right before it and if you missed your shot they have no real logs of it. Hell, if you hit your shot you have a guaranteed 2k damage (5k if a Headshot and that's pretty easy when your target is standing still from warping in or even out if your OT caller is smart) so there's no need to be worried about dying. Even if you die, you only lose Bounty Hunter for a week it's no big deal. (This isn't too much of a problem to me, it just seems as though it was a unnecessary attempt at a solution to this problem as it seems this will not have a huge effect on the Bounty Hunter. If this idea was removed and we just made it so no Bounty Hunters were allowed in an overthrow I would be hyped.) Let's even say that you messed it up and legged the poor Emperor, you have no worries as you still have whatever distance you shot him from, you may continue to shoot your 2000 damage gun with high hopes of the Emperor dying fast as if he even has to fight 1 person he has to choose between tanking a heavy or tanking a gun that does 2000 damage so he'll be sure to be melted real quick. Fighting a Bounty Hunter itself is already a huge challenge, so one can easily imagine that fighting a Bounty Hunter and a Overthrow group is basically a impossible task, especially when the Overthrow group already had the ADVANTAGE of choosing when the OT is called. My idea is to just completely eliminate this obviously overpowered class that is meant to be able to take out any single person from participating in Overthrows as the past few overthrows have only been achieved by Bounty Hunters alone. Hell, Loody and Pallox even showed us when they Overthrew 2 Emperors within 30 minutes of each other by using Bounty Hunters. If someone is worried about losing 8 million, they could easily just have their friend be the Bounty Hunter and have their friend pay them back. I think if we are restricting Bounty Hunters from Overthrows we might as well go the extra mile and restrict everyone who isn't in the faction from participating in a Overthrow because it can easily be called FailRP. I mean when was the last time you heard about Jedi helping a Sith become Sith Emperor in a coup (I mean in lore, this obviously happens on the server every now and then, but it's not too much of a problem, I just don't want BHs feeling alone since they're being booted out of OTs). Of course, someone could argue "Well wouldn't someone hire a Bounty Hunter to kill a Emperor in lore anyways?" Well sure, but for the sake of balancing and not cycling through Emperors every week I would prefer it if we didn't allow the unique ranged class that can 1 shot anyone below 5k health (Basically everyone who isn't a tank) to be able to help in Overthrows. Now this comes to why I believe Grays should be allowed to Overthrow. Grays aren't really unique classes and they all have access to everything Sith and Jedi have in terms of force powers, saber damage, etc (with the exception of Croc). Grays also are extremely limited to which planets they can travel to and can even be PK'd for going to a planet they aren't allowed on. This is quite different with Bounty Hunters as they are encouraged to go on planets they aren't allowed on with their very lenient cooldown timer of 15 minutes, factions inability to punish Bounty Hunters, and the ability Bounty Hunters have to gain sway over the Sith and EE. This ability is one of the main reasons for my post. Bounty Hunters are able to threaten to Overthrow Emperors if they aren't granted permission to go on your home world so they can hunt people. Yes, I'm talking about you ESTRELLA. Bounty Hunters have this ability because of their unique position to where they have the strength to basically solo OT anyone they would like and they are in a place where nobody can touch them, regardless of how they act. Fuck Bounty Hunters. Seriously. Back to the topic, Grays are constantly at risk of being able to be PK'd and hold up their own reputation with each faction and can be punished by each and every faction as they see fit. With all of this in mind, Grays should be allowed to participate in Overthrows while anyone else not part of the faction that the Overthrow is called on should not be able to be involved.
TLDR; Bounty Hunters have a one-shot ranged weapon and are the main reasons why OTs have been happening so often. No outside factions should be able to participate in OTs except Grays as they are constantly building their own reputation and are able to be PK'd quite often.
Auto bounties on Exiles:
If you or a loved one are exiled, you are in deep trouble. This is simply because nowhere in the rules does it state that the Bounty Hunters who have an AUTOMATIC bounty on you have to be near or in sight of the Bounty Hunter Board. With this fact, Bounty Hunters can wait until they have a clear shot on you and then accept your Bounty with /me. Even if this was clarified in the rules, there's no way to prove the position of the bounty hunter of when he does /me, so he could just wait a few seconds after he accepts the bounty and just pop a nice 5k damage round into your facehole. Do you feel as though a Bounty Hunter is lining up a shot on you? Be wary as even if you kill him hes not PK'd since you attacked him first as an exile. You should also keep in mind that he might not have used his /me accepts Exiled Bounty yet as he didn't feel ready to 1 shot you yet. This entire scenario is a load of annoyances and can easily be fixed with a simple task of removing the idea of auto bounties on exiles and changing the ROE for Bounty Hunters (will be discussed in depth on the other section.) Auto Bounties is a weird idea as EVERY bounty hunter has the chance to accept the "bounty" on the exile, so the poor guy could have to be facing 5 5k damaging longbows at once (hes fucked). If you're a level 103 and you just got exiled for disrespecting some guy you didn't realize was DC, you're in for a treat as you're going to lose double your max health in an instant because of auto bounties and how you're forced to go into combat zones as an exile. If you attempt to convert, the Bounty Hunter could easily use his solo raid (if he hasn't already within 15 minutes) and 1 shot you during the conversion (although this might be even easier if hes already threatened the faction leader with an Overthrow if he doesn't do as he says.) Just make this have to be set manually so people don't lose 35 levels and get pissed because of a unfair situation.
TLDR; Auto Bounties are easily exploitable and more than 1 BH can have a bounty on a single exile and blast the poor guy's brains out 3 times at once. There's no real safe space, so having more than 1 BH pursuing you is easily a death sentence and will lead many people to getting upset because of their loss of levels due to the unfair situation.
These ideas include:
-Overthrows being limited to faction members only (Possibly Grays can participate as well)
-Remove auto bounties being set on Exiles
-Punishment being reevaluated for the N-Word
