Leave Defensive Alone

Rumor has it that Shepard plans on reworking the Defensive form completely, why though?

(This thread is speculation that Shepard actually has intentions of re-working defensive as no public confirmation has been made by the chief, take this with a grain of salt)

Defensive is on the far end of the spectrum when it comes to mastering a form. On paper it sounds simple, go to defensive 2 or 3, spam E+Right Click, backpedal, rinse and repeat, though in practice Defensive is a lot more. I can absolutely guarantee if you try and use the method I just described against someone moderately good, you will lose that duel. You have to time your heavies, watch your movement and positioning before an attack, and just spamming heavies will not land you a kill on any experienced dueler, you are required to mix in light attacks as well to fake your opponent out while balancing out everything else, this, coupled with the fact that Defensive has multiple hard-counters like Agile, Fury, and Aggressive (in the order) makes it a slog to fully get a hang of the form, much less "master" it.

Though the argument could be brought up that for that very reason, Defensive hits like a truck against any inexperienced players, which comprise a very fair majority of the server. This is very true. If you know what you are doing with the form, you could easily take on 3-4 mid/low-level players and still win. Just the longevity of the heavy and the range of it ensures at least 1-2 ticks if you position it properly. Do that for another 1-2 minutes and you land yourself a kill. If you are dueling a patient defensive user, it can prove very difficult to beat them.

But my counter-argument is that, instead of constantly changing and balancing out forms to pander more and more to the low-level players. Just let them learn to counter the form themselves, as I stated previously, Defensive has multiple hard counters, two being very popular among the lower levels. Provided after a death or two they realize "Maybe I just won't try and fight this person who is clearly three times my combat level". It just takes time to learn. Though I can agree, if the situation escalates to where too many people rely on Defensive, a nerf would be in order. Though right now the most popular forms are Aggressive and Agile. As they are the easiest to pick up and "master".

Tl:dr, pls don't nerf defensive it's already pretty balanced.

Defensive is far from balanced, the form is possibly the EASIEST to use, I put on my double saber grabbed myself defensive and managed to get 12 kills in 1 raid, this was not farming low levels, it was mostly 140-190s. I'm pretty sure it won't be reworked, but the form is busted, there is literally NO SKILL in using the defensive form. Those 12 kills were bagged in attacking during a raid, the forms full potential is on defending, which only proves my point even further.

its the easiest shit ever when we did the tourney all midas did was spam heavy its extremly hard to counter defensive heavy u need the correct build and saber and if u still have those things u are still in a disadvantage of the defensive e attack and the defensive monster heavy.

Defensive heavies are one of the most busted, over used, DISGUSTING heavies in the game. If I can stand next to someone, heavy them once and kill them with one hit then it definitely is way to aggressive to even be called a "Defensive" stance. I don't think he is reworking the whole stance, I think it may just be the heavy (don't quote me on it though.)

EDIT: Also, defensive spammers are really annoying to counter as well, because you basically can't.

its only the heavy and its going to a different form. at least that is what shepard said

That heavy feels like it's too broken, I feel like a Boeing airplane is coming at me every time someone uses it as the entire side of someone is turned into a great wall of death that'll break your heart in 2 seconds. As if that isn't enough, that heavy also extends out past their player model on both sides if they use a double-ended saber and has a nice invisible hit box that I still haven't figured out. Just please don't turn defensive heavies into aggressive heavies

You use force so your opinion is invalid.
