From MY perspective, I think that communication overall should have been better. Let's start off with the idea of meeting new players from a professional standpoint, which is what staff are supposed to be like. Now obviously, you wouldn't call coworkers or teachers a "trap" or any slang terms you would say out with your friends. Generally, those types of words are considered offensive to some, and perfectly fine to others. It's all a matter of perspective in a sense.
Now given, we definitely aren't like fully professional. We're a Garry's Mod server, but we are still an organized community and a method of income for some. Most people, from personal experience, that we come across, have VERY high tolerance for words that would generally be considered offensive and bad (this is Garry's Mod after all, we're a pretty low standards game across the board). Is this a good thing? Definitely not. It's just near impossible to change because it's infinitely perpetuated by Garry's Mod's toxic community as a whole.
I can understand why Funkle would start joining in, he just assumed you were a random Garry's Mod player who had also lost their sense of morality in the sea of toxicity. I feel that things should have been communicated better at this point, before things got out of hand. However, I also do think that Funkle should have taken action, as our goal as staff is to reduce the amount of targeting and toxicity within the community itself, and joining in isn't helping. Both sides have merits, and both sides have flaws. We should try to stay professional as best we can, while maintaining our connection with the community's players.

a sit at the time is how you correct behaviour quickly. more sits are about suspected cheating rather than behaviour. as REBORN matures i think that will change. you have to call sits in that situation. sucks you have to basically correct the server you are suppose to get online to enjoy.
Especially with that new player staff should have taken the initiative.

On one hand, you can consider this a form of harassment, which yeah I guess it is. But come on. It's the fucking internet, don't get mad at a person you will probably never even see in real life, I can understand if you've had this happen to you consistently and it just gets annoying, but filing a report for it doesn't really solve anything. And as stated you could have said afterwards that you felt hurt or offended by what Funkle said and that is completely fine, I'm sure he would have acknowledged his mistake and apologized as he has done on this thread, but with that, Funkle has apologized for his actions as being toxic is just a norm on Reborn, people do it every single day even if staff are trying to cut back on it. Shit still happens.
My main concern with this though is why this isn't a report on the other person in the video, like, you could have also filled out another thread reporting the other player for their actions as they did the brunt of the harassment recorded in the video, in fact even starting it, if that player hadn't have started the conversation about you being a Girl then Funkle probably wouldn't have even commented on it. I'm not gonna make accusations but if you are going to make a report on Funkle you should also make a report on the person who started it.
In the end though I don't think either person should be punished, they made an offhand comment and ran off, I don't see anywhere of you saying that they continued to harass you, so it didn't proceed past the one offhand comment I think it was just a case of people being annoying for no reason, and that has been made clear to Funkle here, he said something petty and people have voiced their concerns over it. But a extensive punishment is not needed in this case, at least that's what I think.

When it comes to RG, I (think) am the longest playing female player that is current within the community. I bring awareness to this bc I can vouch for you that this is annoying and happens every time I log into the server. Though this behavior is feckin annoying asf, there's not much anyone can do if you don't report it in @ or communicate. I personally don't see this as harassment. This to me is more of a smol brit boy who is friends with hodor being annoying. They want a reaction or attention. I dont consider it harassment bc they didn't say anything harmful in my opinion (harmful being derogatory words such as slut and whore). As a previous Admin (yes I'm running w it) I didn't really do much about this behavior unless it was reported to me. As a girl who plays gmod, you just have to know some boys will try to irk you and call you a trap to get a reaction. The best thing to do is to either contact staff in @ or to not answer the question at all. Also, if you ever join TS you'll probably get the trap tag, all the females have it.
Overall, this is just a dummy being a dummy and next time I suggest contacting a staff or telling the people in the server you don't appreciate those comments. Most of the time being called a trap is a meme and doesn't hold much weight as an insult.

Also, I understand it was one thing and its probably not worthy of a full out demotion, the reason why it ticks me off so much is normally its not one time. Usually, this kind of stuff is frequent. Thus why the video is called "the shit I gotta deal with" because it happens all the time. It adds up and its not really enforced.
Also it may be kind of petty and not the worse insult, but like I said it adds up. Even if people call you a poo head if they do it every day or lots of people do it for no reason it just becomes annoying and distasteful.

I also agree w this but I think because some girls (Veys, laviana, and me) don't care then maybe bc funkle hangs around us he thinks its ok. If something hurts your feelings I 100% think you should say something. I totally agree w the " But Im not your friend Idk you so dont joke with me and insult me" bit you said. It is awkward when someone says stuff like this to you but personally I see trap being equivalent to idiot. I think this bc most people who call you it are idiots who want attention.
You don't have to prove you're a girl to anyone and I understand the frustration when people do not believe you but online, people are dumb af. Again, I think -and this goes for everyone no matter their gender, race, preferences, etc- if someone says something that makes you uncomfortable, tell them and if a) youre not comfortable doing this get staff- its their job to make your playing experience better, b) if you tell them to stop and they get aggressive then contact staff for a sit.
