Alright so there are some new bounty hunter rules as of last nights staff meeting (3/23) and the ones I want to discuss specifically are:

  1. Bounty Hunters can only attack tagets, and in self defense.
  2. you many only attack a Bounty Hunter if you have probable cause to think they are hunting you or an ally. ALLY NOT FRIENDS
Alright so these two are very intertwined rules and summed up just means, you can't fight bounty hunters and they can't fight you without reason. I think that this rule is a bit weird because it makes bounty hunters too strong, and eliminates the purpose of war zones/open combat areas. In regards to bounty hunters being too strong, we are not allowed to kill them without probable cause, which 1. is very vague and will 100% be manipulated with during sits 2. Makes them just about immune to any danger. We can only hit them if we have probable cause, which means they can't be touched in warzones at all unless we see them shoot an ally. IN WARZONES. ZONES FOR OPEN WAR. This makes bounty hunters too OP because they can walk straight through a barricade of a faction protecting a member of theirs with a bounty on their head, and then the bounty hunter can just open fire point blank on the mark. It gives them complete immunity to get into a proper sniping spot, behind enemy lines, wait for their target to stand still in the right spot, and cap them in the head and insta-kill them. It makes them completely immune to any danger when traveling as well. They can already handle themselves fairly well in groups (frankly I think they should have some of their stuff buffed a bit) but now they have free reign to do whatever they want to without being touched. In the actual star wars universe if a bounty hunter not associated with one faction waltzed onto that factions home planet without reasoning, they would get murdered, if they walked past enemy lines during a warzone, they would get murdered, if they pissed off a faction leader, they would get murdered. But now bounty hunters have free reign to do whatever they want and we can't stop them. Not to mention this ruins the fun of warzones for bounty hunters as well.

That's my rant. TLDR: Bounty Hunters should be able to get fucked up just like the rest of us.

EDIT: Had a fun little encounter that really proves my point. A bounty hunter walked onto korriban, straight into the temple, about 10 feet away from me, shot me in the face with that OP sniper, and hit me with one rocket and I died. HE COULD NOT BE HIT BEFORE HE DID THAT. It took him 30 seconds to claim that bounty and he faced no danger until he already got paid.

EDIT 2.0: After these rules have become active I have seen no major fights on tat. I mean both major factions are kinda struggling to keep a good player count and BH is our chance to bring back a good old fashioned tat war. LET THEM WAR!

I wish we could, I am bored af just going after bounties but this is what everyone wants because apparently bounty hunters are too op

its just to avoid having BH's rain down rockets on everyone all the time
I recommend having a system that makes bounty hunters have to take a different approach to starting a encounter. A bounty hunter shouldn’t be allowed to engage with rockets.

The only way I could see BHs being able to KOS everyone on Tat and vice-versa is if they used standard trooper weapons, not their wrist rockets, snipers, and jump packs. (Maybe jump packs, but the other 2 are too much)

make it so you cant use rockets or sniper on people who are not your target and make it so you can attack bounty hunter if they mess with you and they can kill people if they mess with them, like greys.

tbh I loved when bounty hunters start fighting on tat makes everything more chaotic and awesome while a shit ton of explosions happening around you while fighting (though the spam can be straight up TOXIC sometimes) but yeh get those rules outa here

All I just read in your post is basically you saying, my main job that I applied for is getting kinda boring even though I’m being paid

Exactly. Being able to survive in that chaos is amazin, it feels like you‘re really in control of the fight.

We can just restrict those things. Besides they aren’t that OP if they’re fighting groups of force users or even one skilled force user. I think we should allow war zones to be war zones and fix balancing later.

makes sense not to attack bounty hunters as they are tied to crime lords and if you value your life in the galaxy it makes sense not to piss off the underworld

Also BH are not op and are only suppose to operate for bounties

Bounty hunters work alone 90% of the time so we would just walk out and get swarmed by everyone
