Dispute of Loot Entitlement Following Failed Overthrow

This appeal is about the loot from Katan after a failed overthrow. I captured him and forced his surrender. Xidant, acting as Emperor, told me I would get the loot if I did not kill him and made him surrender. I did most of the damage, got the surrender, and followed his order. But the loot was instead given to Red, who just executed Katan after it was all over. This goes against what was promised and misuses the True PK loot rule.

Katan did not die during the overthrow. He surrendered to me, and Xidant clearly said I would get the items if I brought him in alive. That was a decision made in-character under the OT rule that says:

"The Emperor may decide what is done with any surrendering overthrowers upon a failed overthrow."

That is what happened. I was told not to kill him and that I would be rewarded, so I followed orders.

The True PK loot rule says:

"Select items can be looted from their corpse by the individual who landed the final blow, with staff discretion."

That rule normally applies to regular True PKs. But this was not a normal situation. The surrender and the loot were already handled IC. The execution was ceremonial. Applying the rule here ignores all the roleplay and rewards someone who contributed nothing.

Also, according to the rules:

"Unpaid successful bounties/contracts are considered scamming. Exploitation or scamming of any kind is grounds for a permaban."

This was a deal. I was told I would get the loot if I captured him, and I did. If that promise is broken and I get nothing, then it fits the definition of scamming. I trusted Xidant's word and gave up the chance to immediately kill Katan for all his loot. I would not have done that if I knew the promise would be ignored.

I did the work, got the surrender, and followed instructions. Giving Red the reward for a single final ceremonial blow makes no sense. This sets a bad example where people are punished for following orders and discouraged from using surrender mechanics at all.

All I want is for the original IC agreement to be honored.
